Happy 4th of July week! While we celebrate our country, we remain motivated to create change for the state of Arizona and better our education system. This is why on July 5th, we will be hosting a happy hour celebration in Sedona followed by a Smile’n and Dial’n phone bank. The happy hour will be at Olde Sedona Bar & Grill, from 4pm-5pm, located at 1405 AZ-89A, Sedona, AZ 86336.
Immediately after, we will all be heading to the Democrats of Red Rocks office for a phone bank from 5pm-8pm. The address to the office is 1385 W State Rte 89A, Sedona, AZ 86336.
Come hang out with David and our team, and join us in our efforts to build a better future for our students in public schools. We could really use your help, as phone banking allows us to reach out and educate a great number of people, as well as find committed voters for the Schapira campaign!
We hope to see you there, and thank you again for all of your hard work as a member of Team Schapira.
Lunch at 12:30 at Olde Sedona Restaurant.
Lecture at 3:00 at Sedona Library by political historian Jeff Biggers author of “RESISTANCE”, Reclaiming an American Tradition.
Contact [email protected] for more information.
Resistance, Reclaiming an American Tradition. That’s the title of a new book written by this week’s guest. Jeff Biggers is an author, journalist, historian and playwright. During a conversation with Democratic Perspective co-hosts, Steve Williamson and Mike Cosentino, he explains that resistance is the greatest form of patriotism. To make the point, Biggers uses the words of Thomas Paine, one of our nation’s most important and least known founders, who said, “Resistance is not just a protest. It’s an act of renewal.” Biggers reasons that resistance is necessary for undoing mistakes, saying “Hopelessness adapts. Hope resists.”
