Canvass in Sedona on Saturday @ Starbuck (West Sedona)
Jul 21 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

We will be in Sedona on Saturday canvassing at 9am and 12pm from the Starbucks in West Sedona.

We are targetting inconsistent Democratic voters who we need to sign up for PEVL! They become 30% more likely to vote! There are thousands in Sedona and there are only ~80 days until Arizonans begin to vote and this is CRITICAL to Dems getting elected from statewides to congressional seats to LD6 and municipal candidates.

Round Table Discussion with the LD6 Candidates: Wade Carlisle, Bobby Tyler, and Felicia French

Come and meet our three Democratic LD6 candidates and be part of a Round Table discussion. Our Democratic candidates have undertaken the daunting task of traveling throughout our far-flung legislative district stretching from Roosevelt to Tonto Basin to Payson to Snowflake to Pine to Camp Verde to Cottonwood to Sedona to Flagstaff to Williams and beyond. All three candidates have agreed to spend the day in Sedona to get a chance to meet and talk with voters here!

Please bring as many friends, neighbors, and acquaintances as possible to take advantage of this opportunity! Obviously, this represents a substantial commitment on behalf of the candidates living and working in Holbrook and Pine. Let’s show our support and, more importantly, put ourselves in a position to answer the question: “Have you ever met these candidates? What are they like? What are their positions on Issue X?”

Early primary ballots must be in the mail by today, Wednesday,  8/22.

“Why does this matter you may ask…I like all candidates and whatever you may say…Returns for the primary are a bell weather for the general and allow judgements on “enthusiasm” among voters. If enthusiasm among your parties voters seems low (i.e. voting is sluggish) or about how it’s always been, the national party has less incentive to invest finite resources in your state which means your party has less chance of winning.”-  Lori Marie

What Do women Bring to Public Office – Annual Scholarship Fundraiser @ NAU campus
Aug 23 @ 11:30 am

You are all invited to our Annual Scholarship Fund Raiser Aug. 23. The link for payment is at the end of the article.

The Flagstaff Branch of American Association of University Women is presenting two dynamic speakers for their annual scholarship fundraising luncheon, August 23 2018 at 1899 on the NAU campus. “What Do Women Bring to Public Office” is the theme of the program, featuring two dynamic speakers, State Senator Katie Hobbs, candidate for AZ Secretary of State and combat veteran Felicia French, candidate for AZ State Legislature LD6.

Both speakers bring varied experiences to their campaigns for state office, appealing to voters who are looking for a re-commitment by state government to improve education funding, voter protections and healthcare.

Katie Hobbs, is an NAU alumni with a MSW from ASU. She served in the AZ House in 2010 and the AZ Senate from 2012. Her work history includes over 20 years guiding homeless youth to a ‘road to self-sufficiency’, domestic violence and behavioral health. Votesmart gives her high points as a humanitarian and a “Liberal in a sea of conservatism”.

Felicia French, a third generation Arizonian, is a retired Army Colonel, combat medivac helicopter pilot, and registered nurse who have a Masters in Sustainable Solutions. Her campaign issues centers on education, student achievements, assessable vocational training and healthcare. Community involvement landed Felicia ‘Volunteer of the Year 2016 for the ‘Take Pride Pine-Strawberry’ effort in Pine, AZ.

The luncheon cost is $50 and RSVPs for the event should be made by August 16, 2018 at [email protected]. If you cannot attend this event but wish to contribute to the Scholarship Fund, the donation made by made at PayPal Donation AAUW.
