We will no longer meet on the corner near the high school on Friday mornings. Instead, following the lead of Greta Thunberg and Fridays For Future International, we will take photos of ourselves holding our climate signs each Friday and post them across our social networks, using the hashtag #ClimateStrikeOnline. Here’s my pic from last Friday. Please post yours.
Thanks for your help, and please take good care of yourself.

In light of the current COVID-19 medical guidelines and public health precautions, we’re pivoting to virtual/remote outreach campaign activities.
We have a new opportunity to help Colonel (Ret.) Felicia French and Coral Evans win their races in one of Arizona’s most critical legislative districts in 2020—it’s our new “Canvass from your Couch” event on Sat/Sun Mar 21 – 22 (which will be a virtual, remote event)!
Below are the details on the advance training for first timers and/or anyone who needs a refresher and wants to be well prepared for making calls over the weekend.
Thu, March 19
NOTE: To canvass from your couch you will need all of the following:
- your own phone (landline or mobile);
- a desktop, laptop, or tablet;
- a reliable internet connection; and
- your own ActionID account, so you can log onto VAN and access the Open VPB
If you don’t already have an ActionID, please set one up before the webinar: Create my Action ID now.

DIGITAL Earth Day!
At Earth Day Network, the health and safety of volunteers and participants in Earth Day events is our top concern. Amid the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we encourage people to rise up but to do so safely and responsibly—in many cases, that means using our voices to drive action online rather than in person.
With this in mind, Earth Day Network is postponing its live 50th anniversary Earth Day event. Instead, April 22 will mark the first Digital Earth Day, a global digital mobilization to address the most urgent threats to people and planet.
Digital Earth Day will use some of the world’s most innovative digital media platforms to mobilize millions in a collective call for climate action. The coordination will deliver an Earth Day unlike any other in history.
In the face of a challenge that unites us all, whether it be coronavirus or our global climate crisis, we cannot shut down. Instead, we must shift our energies and efforts to new ways to mobilize the world to action.
The first Earth Day was the biggest civic engagement demonstration the world had seen. The 50th anniversary of Earth Day will take mobilization to the next level. We’ll be in touch with ways you can participate in the coming days.
Together,
Kathleen Rogers
