Yavapai Dems Sponsor a Veterans Town Hall
Join a platform for veterans and VA employees to voice their concerns.
We’re giving veterans and VA employees a much needed platform to voice their concerns about the impact of DOGE cuts. The public is welcome at this free event, so please join us in standing up for our Veterans!
Yavapai County is home to nearly 25,000 veterans. The Bob Stump Department of Veterans Affairs is one of the largest locations serving veterans in Northern Arizona, with over 1,000 employees. Many veterans, their families and caregivers, VA employees, veterans organizations and community members are alarmed by the Trump administration’s recent threats to terminate essential employees and reduce funding for necessary care and benefits. It is critical that we hear directly from those affected and support our veterans of Yavapai County.
Yavapai County is home to nearly 25,000 veterans. The Bob Stump Department of Veterans Affairs is one of the largest locations serving veterans in Northern Arizona, with over 1,000 employees. We invited our local lawmakers to attend and address the concerns of veterans, their family members and caregivers, and VA employees. Rep. Bliss is not coming and Rep. Nguyen confirmed only to back out shortly after. No response has yet been received from Rep. Crane or Sen. Mark Finchem. We need you there!
I’m excited to invite you to an upcoming Flagstaff Veterans Town Hall hosted by U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego. This is an opportunity for veterans in Coconino County and the surrounding region to share their concerns, ask questions, and hear directly from Senator Gallego on his efforts to support and advocate for veterans’ rights, benefits, healthcare, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from Senator Gallego, share personal stories, and ask questions during the town hall.
Please use this link to RSVP by April 17 at noon. Additional event details, including the venue address and arrival instructions, will be shared the day before. Please note that this is an open press event. Greetings film afficionados, let’s keep our face to face gatherings going with a conversation about:
The film No Other Land was made by a Palestinian-Israeli collective, named Best Documentary Film at the Academy Awards and was the year’s most decorated documentary. The film makers documented the demolition of homes in Masafer Yatta in the West Bank from 2019-2023, creating a “visual record of what was happening” that Alissa Wilkinson, in her The New York Times review, called “audacious and devastating.” We’re hoping you were able to catch the film when it played at the Mary D. Fisher in late March since as you know, the film has had a difficult time finding a US distributor (which introduces much asked questions about documentary films and market distribution).
