In keeping with Academy Award nominees, Maria Bakalova has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Borat’s erratic but sweet daughter, Tutar. The film has also received a nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Matt Zoller Seitz called the film a “deliciously unstable comedy” in his RogerEbert.com review READ REVIEW While reviews are mixed, Nicholas Barber, writing for BBC, asserts, “But be patient: the last half hour of Subsequent Moviefilm has enough fine material to make it all worthwhile” READ REVIEW
