DORR Political Film Club @ Vino di Sedona
Apr 24 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Greetings film afficionados, let’s keep our face to face gatherings going with a conversation about:

The film No Other Land was made by a Palestinian-Israeli collective,  named Best Documentary Film at the Academy Awards and was the year’s most decorated documentary.  The film makers documented the demolition of homes in Masafer Yatta in the West Bank from 2019-2023, creating a “visual record of what was happening” that Alissa Wilkinson, in her The New York Times review, called “audacious and devastating.”  We’re hoping you were able to catch the film when it played at the Mary D. Fisher in late March since as you know, the film has had a difficult time finding a US distributor (which introduces much asked questions about documentary films and market distribution).

May Day – Phoenix @ Arizona State Capitol
May 1 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Join us for a peaceful demonstration on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 9am. Meet at Arizona State Capitol, 1700 W Washington St, Phoenix, AZ 85007 and then we’ll march to Sandra Day O’Connor United States Courthouse, 401 W Washington St, Phoenix, AZ 85003.

It’s time to rise together and march for our freedoms this May Day. We are organizing to create a peaceful space where community can come together and demand we put the working class over corporations and billionaires.

All Arizonans deserve the freedom to be in thriving communities, where we honor our cultures, strive for the futures we want, and protect and care for our families. We know that through mutual aid and shared accountability, we keep each other safe.

Right now, billionaires are buying elected officials to concentrate power. These elites want to keep working class families divided and isolated. They blame our neighbors, create scarcity, and try to keep us silent and afraid. They’re taking money away from schools, making it almost impossible to own a home, threatening our hard earned social security, and destroying worker protections. Whether you’re a single mom, a bus driver, or a nurse, you are under attack from billionaires who have bought off our politicians and rigged the system to crush working-class families. They want to erase labor rights, break our unions, abduct immigrants and students, and silence the voices of the people who stand up for what’s right. This is a war on working people—and we will not stand down.

We deserve a future where everyone in our communities has a fair opportunity to thrive. May Day isn’t just a rally—it’s our strategy to take back what’s rightfully ours. We are coming together to build a world where every single individual and family has what they need to thrive: housing, accessible healthcare, fair wages, safe workplaces, and the freedom to live without fear—no matter your race, class, gender, sexuality, or immigration status. We deserve to live the way we choose and we have the right to come together and change our futures. We deserve to thrive!

Together we will make a difference!!!!!

Across the country—working people are rising up. We are demanding a country that puts our families over fortunes, public schools over private profits, healthcare over hedge funds, housing over homelessness.

Musk and Trump want to erase labor rights, break our unions, and silence immigrant voices.

May Day 2025 we are fighting back! We want a world where every family has housing, healthcare, fair wages, union protection, and safety—regardless of race, zip code, or immigration status.

Our schools are being defunded! Public services are being privatized! Our unions are being attacked. Immigrant families are being attacked with fear and violence. This is a war on working people—and we will not stand down! This day of action is just the beginning. We’re organizing not just for one day, but to build power in every neighborhood, on every shop floor, and in every school.

This May Day, we will turn the page. Working families will lead! Immigrants will be protected! No one will be left behind. This is not a request. We are reclaiming our power from corporate elites, and we will not be intimidated by Trump, Musk, or their billionaire backers. They’ve ruled for too long. Their time is up.

Join Us: Indivisible Sedona, After the March Indivisible, DORR, Verde Valley Dems, Indivisible Rimrock, Camp Verde Indivisible, Indivisible Cottonwood, Cornville, Clarkdale!

May Day Strong Sidewalk Protest @ Arizona 69 & Centre Court Prescott Valley, AZ 86314
May 3 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

On Saturday May 3, 2025, Join Prescott Indivisible, Yavapai County Democratic Party , and Democratic Women of the Prescott Area for May Day Strong Sidewalk Protest. Join the picket line against Trump’s disastrous polices. For May Day 2025 we are standing united. We’re organizing for a world where every family has housing, healthcare, fair wages, union protection, and safety—regardless of race, zip code, or immigration status. This is the beginning of a new era—one where working families lead, immigrants are protected, and no one is left behind. We are reclaiming our power from corporate elites, and we will not be intimidated by Trump, Musk, or their billionaire backers. They’ve ruled for too long. Their time is up. STOP THE BILLIONAIRE TAKEOVER. WE ARE THE MANY. THEY ARE THE FEW. THIS IS MAY DAY. JOIN US.

Instructions for event. Please read: May 3rd / 11 AM – 1 PM SR 69 in Prescott Valley – sidewalk on the north side between N. Lake Valley Road and Centre Court. Parking is available in the Harkins Theatre parking lot. Plenty of parking but please park away from any of the businesses so as not to take up spaces for their patrons. We will line the sidewalk between Lake Valley Road and Centre Court, avoiding the intersections which are too congested. We should try to stay concentrated and be sure to not block pedestrian or bicycle traffic that may be using the walkway. Please do not stand in the landscape area between the sidewalk and the highway. In the event of counter protesters, we will remain together and we will not engage. If any counter protester becomes a problem, please notify a Peacekeeper so the situation can be addressed. The Prescott Valley Police Department has been notified of our event and will do periodic checks of the area. Be careful crossing streets from the Harkins parking lot when accessing the sidewalk area. Drivers are not always paying attention. You will also be crossing through some business parking lots as you work your way to the sidewalk. Again, be mindful of vehicular traffic and respectful of private property. We will have extra signs for use during the event. If you have large signs or banners, please bring them, the larger – the better. And American Flags too! Remember, we are the true patriots!

Bystanding Moment: Documentary and Hands on Workshop
May 30 @ 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm

The Bystander Moment is a 49-minute documentary, produced by The Media Education Foundation and features interviews with Jackson Katz, an expert on gender violence prevention and leadership training. While The Bystander Moment primarily focuses on how to address cultures that are conducive to violence against women, the film also speaks to how homophobia silences men who take a stand against the sexualization or mistreatment of women. Ultimately, the message of The Bystander Moment is a hopeful one. We all have the capacity to change our culture, in daily ways! Thinking about how to be a better bystander has rarely been as important in the United States. As our political climate is increasingly hostile towards immigrants, people of color, trans people and other members of the LGBTQ community, practicing good bystander behavior will be ever more important to keeping our community healthy and safe for people of all backgrounds. This film is being made available to the Verde Valley community for free by Sedona Indivisible’s LGBTQ + Action group. Everyone who cares about creating a safer community is welcome to attend. Bystander Moment will be followed by small group discussions and role plays of how we can collectively create a safer, more inclusive culture in Sedona.

No Kings Mass Protest
Jun 14 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

No crowns. No thrones. No kings.

Those are principles America was founded upon. They were the battle cry of the Continental Congress that adopted the American flag in June of 1777, in the midst of a war to throw off a monarchy. June 14 in fact — Flag Day.

Donald Trump has disgraced those principles. He’s actively defying our courts, sidelining Congress, cracking down on dissent, and, with this ego-driven military parade, stealing from the people to pay for his birthday party.

No Kings Day is how we’ll remind Trump, and all of our fellow Americans, that we don’t suffer kings in this country. Trump wants the world to see a glorious and powerful ruler, but what we’ll show them is a weak and unpopular president — a lame duck flailing for attention as the masses stand up to reject him.

Millions showed up on April 5 for the Hands Off! protests. Over a thousand events were held during the May Day mobilization last week.

On June 14, let’s stand together again, in even bigger numbers, against Trump’s cruelty, corruption, and abuses of power. Click here to find an event (or host your own) and make a plan to gather and remind Trump: America has No King!

No Kings Protest – Flagstaff @ Flagstaff City Hall
Jun 14 @ 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.

🚨On Saturday, June 14, we’re taking to the streets nationwide. We’re not gathering to feed his ego. We’re building a movement that leaves him behind.🚨

The flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump. It belongs to us. We’re not watching history happen. We’re making it.

On June 14th, we’re showing up everywhere he isn’t—to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings. Check out nokings.org for more information.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

This is Indivisible Northern AZ’s LOCAL event page, which is meant to reach people who have registered for one of our other events. We are also registered on the NoKing.org website so that anyone can find this event on the map. It is the SAME EVENT and you only need to register on one or the other links. You will find more local details on this link. Co-sponsors of our local event will be announced soon and listed here.
